The Nan A. Lightstone Foundation, Inc. was created in memory of Nan Lightstone, an inspirational young woman whose life was tragically cut short from an infectious disease in 1995. Nan brought joy and brilliance to all she did and all who knew her. The Foundation has been established to honor her memory.
Incorporated under the State of New York in November 2002 as a non-profit entity, the Nan A. Lightstone Foundation is working to understand and overcome infectious disease. To reach these goals, the Foundation is raising funds in order to support medical research institutions specializing in the study of infectious disease, develop awareness about infectious disease, and help those whose lives have been affected or altered by an infectious disease.
In the spirit of this vivacious, intelligent, and caring young woman, it is the Foundation’s goal to approach fundraising in a unique and fun manner. Through events, letter campaigns, and networking, the Nan A. Lightstone Foundation hopes to raise awareness of infectious disease, as well as raise funds for scientific research and medical treatment of such diseases.
